Seriously, when a unit dies it disintegrates and a little cloud of dust appear son it’s center of mass, it’s absolutely horrible the game was unit dlcs which you need to buy if you want to use these units on skirmish (including this game version of experimentals) and to top it off, it’s currently unplayable in Nvidia drivers because the latest update introduced (or reintroduced apparently) a bug which not only fucks with the performance, but also make the game’s units look blurry because they’re constantly switching between low graphics and high graphics quality all the time. Even though it’s difficult as hell to run, the game looks way uglier than supcom and the explosions are pretty much don’t exist. My biggest gripes with this game though are that: the effects look AWFUL. Otherwise it’s completely different, with a much bigger emphasis on capturing nodes and using support powers. The game has very little do to with supcom besides the fact it has lots of units, a strategic zoom and flux economy (which doesn’t work very well, I might say). Zero-K is just a Ta knockoff really, it has nothing new or interesting enough to justify playing it besides the fact is free, and the graphics are bad as well (the same goes for all these Ta clones based on spring engine as well, including BAR).Īs for Ashes, it LOOKS like a good game when you look at it in trailers and screenshots but it’s absolutely not. That being said, I would stray away from Ashes and Zero-K. It’s these things that really elevate the game IMO. Heck, there is one entirely new faction as well as a new units pack that applies to both, and there are TWO new factions in the works by modders. It’s not quite as good, but it gets pretty close and it’s community is incredible, they’re improving the game every day with new mods. Tbh, the only game that comes close is Planetary Annihilation.
